Who knew Somerset had so many open air swimming pools? And we’ve picked the ones closest to our local surgeries, so if you’re thinking of relocating then this should swing it for you.

First up is Greenbank Heated Pool in Street. This pool has been a childhood favourite for lots of people in Somerset since 1937, it’s not changed much but it has been updated and is the perfect place to paddle when the temperature hits a mighty 34 degrees here in Somerset next week.

A stone’s throw away from Greenbank Pool is Glastonbury Health Centre who are looking for a salaried GP (closing date 31 July).

It seems as though this patch of Somerset is blessed with beautiful and historic Lidos and pools. Not far from Street and Glastonbury is Shepton Lido (also heated!), which after a refurbishment in 2017 is now open seven days a week.

In West Somerset we have the 27 metre Wivey Pool in Wiveliscombe, which offers lessons, lane swimming and family swimming, plus challenges like the ‘Wivey Channel Challenge’ on the 29 and 30 July.

Is there a better way to wind down after a hot day at work? Or to cool the kids off at the weekend?
